The final pitch
After 23.5 hours of continuous work, only 30 minutes remain to present the results to more than 100 curious guests in the beautiful Forum Alpbach plenary. This is a big moment for all the teams.
At the end of an event like this one question eventually pops up: what are the learnings?
Let’s start with the company partners who 24 hours earlier presented real-life tasks for the student teams to work on.
These are the concrete ideas and amazing concepts our passionate teams generated for their company partners to take back home:

Team voestalpine digitalized the continuous casting process by finding the proper measurement techniques for failure detection.
Team Liebherr developed a solution providing a new technology for cooling devices in retail which is interactive and combines energy efficiency with seamless customer experience.
Team Fronius International improved the concept of a battery charging system for the future of intralogistics.
Team AVL created a communication system to build trust in autonomous driving.
Team Energie Steiermark designed a full-service platform for energy consumption for both the B2B and the B2C market.
Team Logicdata developed the modular workplace of the future.
Team Magna Steyr developed a future scenario of self-steering cars with clean engines.
Sleepy eyes, an overdose of caffeine and the desperate need for some good rest are the side effects our students are dealing with right now. But what matters much more is that they are taking home many impressions to reflect upon, they learned about group dynamics, innovation processes and how collective intelligence can make the crucial difference.
We are all proud to have been part of the Technology Symposium organized by AIT Austrian Institute of Technology and the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation – Programme Radio 1 at the European Forum Alpbach 2017 – thank you very much, see you hopefully next year and for now good night to all the participants :-)
